Wonderland Kids Academy in Fox River Grove, IL has an opening for a position of English Language Program Coordinator.
Position Description:
The English Language Program Coordinator will oversee the development, implementation, and assessment of English language programs for different age levels, non-native speakers, and those who need extra support in acquiring language skills.
- Design, implement, and oversee the English language program tailored to the developmental needs of children in preschool, private kindergarten, before and after school program, after school enrichment program, and school’s out program.
- Develop curriculum and materials that focus on building vocabulary, listening, speaking, and reading comprehension skills.
- Ensure the program aligns with early childhood education standards and best practices for language development.
- Conduct regular assessments of children’s language proficiency, identifying areas for improvement.
- Provide individualized plans and support for children who require additional language assistance.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the language programs, making adjustments as necessary based on assessment data and feedback.
- Work closely with childcare teachers to integrate English language development into daily activities and routines.
- Offer guidance to teachers on effective strategies for encouraging language acquisition in young children.
- Communicate regularly with parents about their child’s progress in the English language program.
- Organize workshops and informational sessions for parents to help them support their child’s language development at home.
- Organize specialized workshops and informational sessions for Ukrainian and Russian-speaking parents to help them support their child’s language learning process at home.
- Maintain detailed records of each child’s progress, including assessments, language development milestones, and any additional support provided.
- Prepare reports for the facility’s leadership, highlighting key achievements and areas for improvement in the language program.
- Adapt language programs to reflect the diverse needs and backgrounds of the children enrolled in the facility.
Position Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Languages
- 2 years of experience as an English teacher
- Must be fluent in Ukrainian and Russian
