Sr. Design & Procurement Engineer (Theatrical Systems)

Generations Technologies Inc. in Pompton Plains, NJ has an opening for a position of Sr. Design & Procurement Engineer (Theatrical Systems).

Job Description:

• Analyze system design requirements, including Theatrical Stage Lighting, Audio/Video System, Rigging hardware, House lights.
• Work directly with design engineers to clarify technical needs and choose appropriate equipment.
• Interpret 2D/3D system drawings, technical schematics, and equipment layouts (AutoCAD, Vectorworks, Revit, etc.) to ensure compatibility with procured components.
• Coordinate equipment handover and assist commissioning teams to validate system performance.
• Research, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors for best value, quality, and delivery timelines.
• Develop a trusted supplier network that supports technical and commercial goals.
• Initiate and manage Request for Quotations/Request for Proposals, assess samples, and confirm compliance with design specs and performance standards.
• Monitor inventory and supply schedules, ensuring alignment with project timelines.
• Support project budgeting and cost control, tracking expenditures and delivery performance.
• Provide procurement status updates and flag risks on scheduling, quality, or cost.

Position Requirements:

• Master’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 2 years of experience in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience must include technical procurement.
• Experience working with major theatrical system manufacturers, such as Sennheiser, JBL, ElectroVoice, and Crown.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Vectorworks, Revit, etc.
• Experience with ERP platform, Intuit QuickBooks, Monday.com and Google Sheets.

This is a full-time position.
