Job Description:
Mental Health Curriculum Developer will be responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive mental health curriculum for K-8 grade students to be used in Seventh-day Adventist education systems. Position’s main goal will be to assist in the development and implementation of the curriculum to ensure it is engaging, informative, and age-appropriate, which will help students develop healthy coping mechanisms and emotional intelligence.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development of a comprehensive mental health curriculum for K-8 grade students that aligns with Seventh-day Adventist education standards
- Research, plan, and implement a variety of teaching strategies and instructional materials that are inclusive and culturally responsive
- Conduct needs assessments and analyze student data to determine the effectiveness of the mental health curriculum and make necessary improvements
- Work collaboratively with school staff, administrators, and mental health professionals to ensure that the curriculum aligns with the school’s mission and objectives
- Attend and participate in professional development workshops and conferences to stay up-to-date on the latest research and trends in mental health education
- Prepare and deliver professional development workshops for school staff on implementing the mental health curriculum in the classroom
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with students, families, and community partners to promote mental wellness and resources
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in education
- 1 years of experience in the job offered or teaching experience in a K-8 school setting
- Knowledge of child and adolescent development, mental health, and social-emotional learning
- Familiarity with international standards of Seventh-day Adventist education
